Vintage Villas Wedding

Rachael and Brandon were married Saturday at the always beautiful Vintage Villas. The venue overlooks the lake and makes for some of the best sunsets around.

RadioStar is one of our absolute FAVORITE bands. Billy, Dave, Greg, and Scott are not your everyday wedding band. They bring something "new" (but old and familiar), unique, and unexpected to a wedding. They did a great job keeping the 80's hits coming all night long. It never ceases to amaze us how much fun the guests truly have when RadioStar is on stage.


Tyler Schmitt, photographer, said "Megan and her team over at Your Very Own Fairy Godmother did a great job coordinating the whole day and doing all the little things just right. Here she is spreading petals before the ceremony with a lot of flair."

The Wedding Diva!

Yesterday, the Austin Wedding and Event Coordinators hosted a speaker event "An Afternoon With The Wedding Diva" at The Driskill Hotel. Linnyette Richardson-Hall is "The Wedding Diva" from Baltimore who you may know from Whose Wedding Is It Anyway? She spent two hours speaking with us individually during a cocktail and hors d'oeuvres VIP meet and greet. She opened with 15 minutes of Q and A for the VIP guests, shared a presentation for almost 2 hours, and then stayed to do an open Q and A session for all of the guests. On multiple occasions, I heard guests describe Linnyette as funny, down-to-earth, entertaining, approachable, and real. She offered insight to her own journey, encouragement to find your own, how the television show has changed her business and life, and a solid message that sharing our knowledge and educating others is the only way that Wedding Planners can be taken seriously as a profession with a core group of Professional Wedding Planners and professional teams that have the resources, experience, and knowledge to successfully plan seamless events.

From my perspective, it was incredibly reassuring to hear her commend internships and apprenticeships as well as many other aspects of the Fairy Godmother model. Your Very Own Fairy Godmother was the second team in Texas (the first in Austin) to offer internships. Linnyette has built her team much like that of the Fairy Godmothers. The full year of hands-on training, one-on-one time with experienced senior planners, and intense experience cannot be captured in any other way. After the first year of training comes yet another year of training that allows more interaction with the vendors, clients, and full immersing into the planning process all under the direction of a senior planner. Ensuring that our event planners and wedding coordinators are well-trained, detail-oriented, experienced, resourceful, dependable, certified, skillful mediators, and client-focused is imperative to our reputation. Your Very Own Fairy Godmother takes each of those steps (and many more for continuing education) to ensure that you are in the best possible hands on your big day!

Wedding at Lakeway Resort and Spa - Austin, TX

Christy and Joe live out of town, and most of their guests flew from all over to country to see this couple tie the knot.

The ceremony and reception were at Lakeway Resort and Spa, a lovely place with an amazing location and views.

The wedding party was so much fun! The bridesmaids wore custom-made yellow dresses with their initials while they were getting ready. The dressing room was full of energy. Tammie Garza and Vanessa Rosales did an incredible job with their hair and makeup. Every one of them looked amazing!

Christy’s uncle, Pastor Paul Perkins, performed the ceremony. All the guests were really moved by his inspiring words.

Christy and Joe are wine lovers, and this was the theme for such a special event. Wine bottles and cork frames were used to decorate the reception area. The wedding was a success, and all the guests were on the dance floor. Congratulations to these two! We wish them a life full of happiness and love.

Are You Ready To Get Married? Quiz

I saw this on "My Daily Moment" (which often has good recipes), and I couldn't help but laugh. How many times when you were in Junior High did you play M.A.S.H with your girlfriends? I can only imagine how I would have fared had I taken this quiz back then with every puppy-love crush I had. I like that they show how others answered each question - what an interesting social study. Enjoy!
