The Color Purple - as in Purple Mojitos and the Accent Color for Juilia's Wedding

by Martha Perez

I consider myself to be one of the luckiest wedding coordinators in the area right now for 2 reasons; I get to work for fabulous brides and amazing vendors that always make my job so much better!

This time it was a bridal portrait session for Juilia at Laguna Gloria that had my gratitude level on a high. The always amazing photographer, Alina Prax, did an outstanding job capturing the beauty of the bride and her precious daughter Daizia, who wore a very similar dress. How cute is that? Alina is such a joy to work with - Always ready to shoot with a wonderful artistic eye.

John John, The Wedding Butler was also part of our day, and he spent the entire afternoon making sure Juilia felt special and had everything she needed exactly when she needed it. He even took the time to make her signature drink that she has chosen for her wedding day: Purple Mojitos! Yum! I truly believe that he is a luxury that every bride should have on their special day.

We were all able to get a little preview of the wedding day, and I do have to
say that I'm counting the days to have fun all over again doing what I love!

Super 8 Video by Mason Jar

Alana and Brandon, Super8 segment from Chris P. Jones on Vimeo.

I'm a little slow to get this up on the blog, but this video truly captures some of the emotional moments of Alana & Brandon's big day. They did a "sneak peak" (after some initial reluctance) before the ceremony where they had a private moment to share before some pre-ceremony pictures. They both were SO thankful that they did this and said, "We don't know why we didn't just trust you to begin with!" This provided for a much more relaxed bride and groom when it came time for the ceremony. The jitters were gone, and they had a very intimate time together with only cameras present to capture the first glances and kisses. Seeing one another seems to melt the stress away and make the rest of the day much more relaxed.

A big thank you to Chris Jones at Mason Jar for the video and to Wolf Stuntworks for the pyrotechnics!

Your Very Own Fairy Godmother
Austin and Houston, Texas, United States
The founder, Dawn Earley, has been coordinating weddings since 1996. She had always been touted as "THE" planner and had always done it with her heart and soul; combining her love for planning and coordinating events with a business seemed against the foundation of her passion. She realized the need for her services and value of having a business to share her knowledge; she founded Your Very Own Fairy Godmother Wedding & Event Coordination in 2002. With a rapidly growing list of clients, in order to provide the level of service on which she had always prided herself, she needed assistance from others that shared the same vision for clients & enthusiasm for the industry. Within 18 months, her team became the fastest growing event planning firm in the Central Texas area, and she has trained each team member herself. In 2007, three Fairy Godmothers moved to the Houston area. Each wanted to remain a Fairy Godmother: the Houston Fairy Godmother team was born. The name "Your Very Own Fairy Godmother" represents an elevation of excellence, and it is incredibly important that every masterfully planned event perpetuates that reputation.
