The Dessert Room at The Driskill's A Wedding Experience

We were so honored to be selected by The Driskill as one of 7 event planning teams to design, execute, and host a room.  We were able to bring in vendors of our choice to show off some of Austin's best talent and showcase the Driskill in all of its splendor.  The vendors involved in creating a magical space in The Maximilian room were:
Event Planners/Coordinators:  The Fairy Godmothers
Flowers:  Stems Floral Design, Abby Daigle

Travel:  Your Honeymoon Guru, Skip Neal
Invitations & Paper Products:  Dragonfly Designs, Kathy Reece
Lighting: SWANK A/V, Chris Odom
Cakes: Driskill Pastry Chef, Tony Sansalone
Candy Bar: Stardust Pastry, Summer Pruett
Photography:  Hyde Park Photography, Brad Lemon
Design & Linens: Ken Sharples
Makeup Artist: Modern Muse Makeup Artistry, Katie Astoria

Thank you Brad Lemon of Hyde Park Photography for all of the images below!

Flowers on the cake tables by Stems Floral Design and cakes are by Driskill Pastry Chef, Tony Sansalone. Plates for serving the cake were provided by Premiere Party Central.  Linens are courtesy of Ken Sharples.
This picture doesn't fully show the effect on the ceiling, but SWANK A/V created the illusion of diamonds and crystals "raining" from the ceiling.  Stems Floral Designs created truly amazing pieces at the tops of the columns that "dripped" crystals to pull the effect together.

The candy/dessert bar by Stardust Pastry was incredible.  Every item was delicious!  Kathy Reece with Dragonfly Designs created hanging cards and tented cards to label each of the items on the dessert bar (as well as the cake table and coffee bar.)  Dragonfly Designs also made the tri-fold cards with Maximilian room vendor names and special offers that were included in the swag bags for Wedding Experience attendees.  If you attended the show and haven't seen this card, go back and look for the Honeysuckle Pink and Yellow card!  It's worth digging!

This cake was my original inspiration for the room.

Stems Floral Design created some fun cake pedestals that helped incorporate color and theme.
Butter cookies with orange dark chocolate ganache filling and whoopie pies from Stardust Pastry.

The Maximilian Room is gorgeous anyway, but Abby with Stems really made it spectacular!

If you missed A Wedding Experience, then you missed some unique and amazing ideas come to life.  We hope to have a video snippet from Hyde Park Photography to show you soon!
